Rules and event descriptions
Admission wristbands must be worn and visible by everyone including vendors, that wish to enter the ballroom.  This includes events and crowning.  All contestants will receive a weekend pass with entry.  Additional bands may be purchased for $10 per day. This will be  closely monitored. It is not fair to those who pay.

No child should be videoed or photographed while on stage.  We have professional photographers and videographers that will be happy to photograph your child.  I understand that it is YOUR child, but it is too difficult to monitor who is photographing who.  This is for the safety of all our contestants.

Mega Supreme must sit out one year before competing again at nationals.  Ultimate Grand supremes sit out one year on the side she won before competing again at nationals.

Natural Rules
Beauty/formal wear has a time limit of two minutes including personal introduction.
All other events have a 90 second time limit (plus 10 seconds to set up prop(s) if needed)

Beauty/formalwear:  This is the main event of pageant weekend.  Choose a dress that fits your personality. Dresses may be custom or off the rack.  Sunday best, nice party dress, pant suits, baby-doll, prom and ball gowns are all acceptable.  Minimal stoning is allowed since many dresses are purchased this way.  Dresses may long, short, or a hi-low style.

0-10:  The only makeup allowed mascara and lip gloss.  Their faces may be swabbed to check for makeup.  If you are found to have makeup on, you will be given one chance to remove it.  If the judges see you removing makeup, it is at their discretion to remove points.

11 & up: May have everyday makeup, but please keep it light. In natural: think less is more

There should be no fake anything on your head!  This means no fake lashes, no flippers, no falls or wiglets (special consideration may be given under certain circumstances such as a medical condition that requires the use of a wig), braids and/or weaves that are part of your everyday look are allowed.   Keep it simple and natural looking; we want to see the real you!

In beauty we are looking for a child who is put together well and having a good time.  A child dressed in a Sears dress will have just as much chance of winning as someone in a Sherri Hill gown.  Other than for side awards, the only attire score is for fit, flatter, and age appropriateness.  Your walk should be a natural walk, not a bouncy glitz walk.  It is OK to show personality, but again, the judges want to see the real you.  That being said, if a child is running and spinning around, it will be difficult for the judges to see their face which may result in a lower score.

We have no rules about tanning, but remember, this is natural.  If the opinion of the judges is that you don't look natural, you will lose points. There are no restrictions on nails, but clear polish or a clean French manicure is recommended.

Personal Introduction:  Contestants 5 and up  (contestants under 5 may choose to introduce themselves, but it is not required).
Personal introduction will take place on the first x in beauty following the group line up.              Sample introduction:  Hi.  My name is Suzie Sunshine and I am six years old.  I like to play ball and dance.  When I grow up I want to be a teacher  Thank you.       If a child is nervous about speaking he/she may be accompanied by an adult

Casual wear:  same hair and make up rules as in beauty/formalwear.  Think cute, trendy, and classy.  This may be custom or off the rack, but we don’t want it looking like a costume. Please no props and no gymnastics.  We will provide up beat music for this event; you may not provide your own.

Outfit of choice.  Be creative.  Anything goes.  You may bring your own music or we will provide by choosing off a list at line up.  If bringing your own, a CD works best and it is wise to have a backup copy just in case.  We cannot play music off YouTube or any other website.  All music must be previously downloaded if using a phone or other device.  Props are not needed or necessary, but are allowed.   If you are using a prop, you will have 10 seconds in which to set it up.   Makeup, wigs, etc may be worn as part of a costume, but not to enhance features--save that for glitz.

Talent.  Now is your chance to show off your talent.  Singers, dancers, musicians, and variety acts are all welcome.    Makeup, wigs, etc may be worn as part of a costume, but not to enhance features--save that for glitz.  We cannot play music off YouTube or any other website.  All music must be previously downloaded if using your phone or device

Interview. This is a private, closed door interview. Here you will talk one-on-one with the group of judges. This is the time when you should  let your personality shine through. You will take home valuable interviewing skills, such as making good eye contact, speaking confidently, and sitting or standing properly during an interview.  You will be judged on confidence, personality, sincerness  (if a child cannot yet talk, overall demeanor will be used), and overall impression.  Interview attire is whatever you feel will make a good impression.

Spokesmodel. In this event you will write a speech on a given topic and present it to the judges.  Contestants 5 and under may recite a poem or a prayer instead of writing a speech. You will be scored on eye contact, inflection, and confidence.  This is your chance to practice skills that will make you successful in school when giving a class presentation or running for student council.  Attire is anything that makes you feel confident.
Topics include: How I am the best me I can be
                       Why America is great
The importance of a good education
                       Friendship is important

Swimwear This is a fun event where you can show off your swim style.  This can be any type of suit--one or two piece, custom or off the rack.  Wraps are allowed.  Same hair and makeup rules as in beauty/formalwear.  You may provide your own music or choose from Mr.Tim's on pageant day.  We cannot play music off YouTube or any other website.  All music must be previously downloaded if using your phone or device.  You will be judged on poise/personality, confidence, and overall impression.

***no smoke or fog machines, fire, bubbles, or confetti guns in any event! (hotel rule)***  Also no projectile  weapons are to be used in any event (ie bb guns, bow & arrow, etc) ******

Parent/chaperon attire:  If you are escorting your child on stage, please dress modestly and please do not wear any attire promoting any coaching group.  My judges do not care who you coach with or if you coach at all.  I don't want anyone to feel intimidated by feeling that they have to have a coach.  However, it IS okay to wear your coaching attire in the ballroom as long as you are NOT going on stage.

If you are late for group line up, you may join your group on stage at the end of the line and you will not lose any points, but you will be ineligible for side awards and you may miss your photo with Mr. Tim.  If you are late for any event when your name is called to go on stage, you will lose 1/2 point, but you will be allowed to compete.
